I recently purchased the Acer Aspire 8951G-9630 laptop, upgraded to 16Gig RAM and replaced the standard 5,400 RPM 750Gig drive with a 256Gig SSD. This beast is screaming FAST! So, now I have an extra drive but the 2nd hard drive bay doesn’t have any mounting brackets or connector cable. I Binged and Googled for a weekend but to no avail until I asked my buddy Ian and he directed me to http://itec4less.com . There, I found the required accessories:
Acer Aspire 8951G Series Hard Drive Bracket (need 2 of these)
Acer Aspire 8951G Series 2ND Hard Drive Connector Cable (1 of these)
Now, go pimp out your Aspire! Share by leaving a comment on what you put in for your 2nd drive.

From Start, type in “Disk Management” and select “Create and format hard disk partitions”. This utility will allow you to partition and assign a drive letter so it shows up in “My Computer”. This is a dangerous utility if used improperly since it can wipeout all your data so I recommend doing a YouTube search on how to use it.

Andreas, I would recommend installing the SSD as the primary drive since the SSD has significant performance advantages including speed, runs quiet, runs cool and consumes less energy. You should create the Acer recovery CDs before installing the SSD drive. Once that’s done, make the SSD drive your main and use recovery CDs to reinstall to the SSD drive.
